My name is Brittney Valle, and I’m from Murrieta, California. I love Music. I guess you can say I’m a typical young college student, except, in one respect... I am DIFFERENTLY- ABLE. I am totally blind and have been since birth due to rubella.

I’m a high School graduate from San Marcos High school since June 2005. I now attend Mt. San Jacinto College in Meniphee, California and I love it! My major is audio production. My passion is music, and has been since I was just a baby. I’ve always had the ear for music; however I didn’t discover my talent and passion for playing the piano until the sixth grade.

I started sixth grade at Capri Elementary School in Encinitas California. I had been two grade levels behind, when we moved from Alta Loma, CA. I was placed in a special Ed class. The teacher Mr. King would always play the piano for the class in the morning just to get us motivated, and it worked, at least for me. (“Thank you for that Mr. King”).
A couple of months after hearing Mr. King play his little heart out each morning, I jumped off the school bus at the end of a hot, dry September afternoon, hopped right on to the piano bench, & began to play Beethoven’s Fur Elise. My mother asked me later if I’d be interested in piano lessons, but I said “NO” because it would only be boring and I’d probably quit after a month or so anyway, because of previous experiences with strict teachers and/or teachers who would not let me be creative. Sorry but I personally cannot learn in that type of environment.

Approximately three months later, good old mom, asked me again if I was sure that I didn’t want to take lessons, at that point I had decided to try again even though I was a little reluctant. My parents enrolled me in piano lessons with Howard Anton Duncan, who teaches in Vista, CA. I keep in touch with Howard every so often. He was very supportive and so understanding of my passion for the piano. He also allowed me to express myself and to this day, encourages me to create!!! Howard was also sensitive to my feelings, which I greatly appreciated. He was fun, soft-spoken and extremely enthusiastic.

Performing is also a major part of my social life. I love to perform. I started performing at age twelve in June 1999. I’ve participated in talent competitions and fundraisers all over San Diego County. I’ve also played at coffee houses & churches. Mr. Duncan and I did a concert together in December 2000.

I should also mention that I am a composer. I have composed 100+ original compositions since age eleven. I enjoy composing a lot. When I perform, I play my original compositions and every now and again throw in a few well known cover tunes.
I’ve produced three albums to date and will be working on my next one hopefully soon. I usually pick the summer to start such tasks because it is too difficult to fit this in when I need to keep up my 4.0 GPA.

Now I need to let you know about the bands that I really enjoy. My favorite at this point in time is Eiffel 65, which is an Italian techno-pop group. I mostly enjoy rap and hip-hop, but I also enjoy 80’s music. One of my favorite 80’s music groups is Air Supply, and I am very privileged to say that I have net them personally and have befriended the group’s spokesman, vocalist, and talented composer, graham Russell. Thank you graham and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock, for taking the time to respond to my numerous emails, and for allowing me that opportunity.  I also enjoy music from Brittney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and Tears For Fears, Duran Duran, Eminem, 50-cent, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, and much more.

I love music in general. Music has always been a major part of my life, and always will be.
I would like to thank God for giving me this wonderful gift and for allowing me to share it with so many people.

I would like to say, “thank you” to Howard Duncan, & Charles Foreman for all the hard work you guys put in for me.

Last but not least, I’d like to thank my parents and my wonderful boyfriend Kyle and his family, for being so supportive of my music. Mom and Kyle for always shuttling me from here to there and Kyle, you’re my favorite roadie.

Here is to creating more music.
